Marc'Antonio Zondadari

Fra ' Marc'Antonio Zondadari (also Marcantonio, * 1658 in Siena in Tuscany, † June 16, 1722 ) was the 65th Grand Master of the Order of Malta.

He was elected as his successor after the death of the Grand Master Ramon y Perellos Roccaful on 13 or January 14, 1720. Although his reign lasted only until his death in 1722, he was popular with the people of Malta. During his reign was propagated the carnival tradition in Malta.

His body is buried in a tomb in Valletta by Massimiliano Soldani Benzi (1658-1740) at St. John 's Co-Cathedral, while his heart was very moved to the displeasure of the Maltese in his native city of Siena. The tomb is a baroque work of art in marble and bronze, and shows the Grandmaster lying. This is the only tomb in the nave, because it did not fit in the chapel of the Italian tongue of the Order.
