Marc Birsens

Marc Birsens ( born September 17, 1966 in Luxembourg ) is a retired Luxembourgian football player.

Career

Association

Birsens began his career in his hometown at Union Luxembourg, where he played from 1985 to 1996.

After a one-year spell at CS Grevenmacher 1997 he returned to his hometown club back.

In 2000 he moved to U.S. Rumelange, where he end his playing career in 2002 in Luxembourg the highest league.

Total Marc Birsens played 331 games in the National Division. There are also 18 missions in the European Cup ( Union 16, Grevenmacher 2).

In 1991 he was elected Footballer of the Year in Luxembourg.

National

On August 27, 1988 Marc Birsens made ​​his debut in the Luxembourg team when he came on in the 66th minute in a friendly against Italy ( 0:3).

He played a total of 53 matches. His only goal he scored on 9 June 1999 in the European Championship qualifier against Poland (2:3).
