Marc Hennerici

Marc Hennerici ( born May 10, 1982 in Mayen ) is a German racing driver German -Brazilian descent. It starts in various sports and touring car racing. 2005 Marc won the Independence Trophy in the WTCC.

Career

Hennerici found by the geographical proximity to the Nürburgring and the family roots in motorsport early motorsport. So Marc started in 1989 at the age of 6 years to Kart Slalom events. Hennerici drove through to 1998, kart and could, among other things twice champion at the West German ADAC Kart Cup will. In the legendary kart club Kerpen he won the club championship in 1994.

From 1999 to 2001 Hennerici took in the cockpit of a Formula Juniors and then in the Formula BMW space. In 2002 the transition to touring car sport where Hennerici 2005, the Independence Trophy won in the WTCC. Since 2007, Hennerici starts with GT racing cars. In 2009 he won the GT3 class of 24 in Spa and together with teammate Luca Ludwig the runner-up in the ADAC GT Masters.

Personal

Hennerici lives in Bonn, where he studied economics at the time. He comes from a racing family. His great-uncle Guenther Hennerici was the founder and team leader of Team Eifel Country caravans. His grandfather Heinz Hennerici was also a racing driver, but had to make do because of a war injury from the second World War with only one arm.
