Marcal

The Marcal [ mɒrt͡sɑl ] is a right tributary of the Raba, which rises near Sümeg in the Bakony in western Hungary. The river flows north and reaches Ukk the Little Hungarian Plain. On the way there the Marcal collected from the right opening into watercourses from the Bakony. The river runs in the lower reaches similar to the Raab, of which meanders the Marcal often only a kilometer separates, to the northeast. Both rivers unite in Győr.

The river was contaminated from the mouth of the creek Torna in October 2010 by red mud from the Kolontár - dam failure.
