Marcel Denis

Marcel Denis (* February 15, 1923 in Monceau- sur -Sambre, Belgium, † 18 March 2002) was a cartoonist and painter. He began his career in 1944 as a humorous illustrator for various Belgian magazines (including la Défense Sociale la libre Belgique, le moustique, l' optimiste, le soir, le soir illustré ).

In 1947 he began drawing comics. His early works include the series " Pip " and " Le Professeur Vianrose " optimiste for the weekly magazine l'. Between 1947 and 1948 he carried out a total of three episodes of the series " les aventures de Jim et Bill Blutterson et du professeur Perkins " in the weekly magazine La Défense Sociale.

After he had worked from 1952 for several years as a hand - letterer for comics in Dupuis publishing house, he came in 1957 to mark the studio of André Franquin. In 1958 he created the humorous series " Les Frères Clips " for Spirou. From 1960 to 1961 he took over for a creative break of the duo Will / Rosy for two episodes of the series ' Tif et Tondu "( Eng.: Harry and disk).
