Marcel Honorat Léon Agboton

Marcel Honorat Léon Agboton ( born January 16, 1941 in Avrankou ) is Archbishop Emeritus of Cotonou.

Life

Pope Paul VI. personally consecrated him on January 6, 1966 in Rome as a priest; He was incardinated into the clergy of the Diocese of Porto Novo. John Paul II appointed him on 19 December 1994 as Bishop of Kandi.

The Cardinal Dean and Cardinal Prefect of the Congregation for Bishops, Cardinal Bernardin Gantin donated to him on 25 March of the next year, the episcopal ordination; Co-consecrators were Assogba Nestor, Archbishop of Parakou, and Vincent Mensah, Bishop of Porto Novo.

On 29 January 2000, he was appointed Bishop of Porto Novo. On 5 March 2005, he was appointed Archbishop of Cotonou. From his office he resigned on August 21, 2010.
