Marcel Sabitzer

Marcel Sabitzer (* March 17, 1994 in Graz) is an Austrian football player. Since January 2013 he is the Austrian Bundesliga SK Rapid Wien under contract.

He is the son of the former Austrian national player and former striker of the SV Austria Salzburg and Graz AK, Herfried Sabitzer.

Club career

Sabitzer began his career in 2000 in the youth of the ESV Admira Villach, when his father worked at Herfried partners BSV Bad Bleiberg. With the change of the father in the following season for SV Mattersburg Burgenland, the son came to the youth of the then first division side Grazer AK. When GAK he became one of the greatest offensive talents of the club. From 2005 to 2008 he scored 49 goals in 63 youth matches and celebrated with the U-15 team to the runner-up title in the Styrian league. In 2007, he secured also as performers of sports school Weiz Austrian student league title. In the final against the BRG Polgarstraße get him the first two goals in a 3-0 draw.

In June 2008, he then moved to the youth of the newly formed SC Magna Wiener Neustadt, but was immediately passed on to the then still operated in cooperation with Austria Wien FSA / AKA U-15. With the FSA he was then champion in the League TOTO and crowned himself with 16 goals in 22 games for his club's top scorer and third place in the scoresheet.

For the season 2009/10 he joined the academy of FC Admira Wacker Mödling, where it ran aground in the U -19 U-17 team and at the same time. After a total of 13 goals in 14 appearances for both youth teams, including 5 goals in 5 games than fifteen years for the U -19 team, he was first included in the second team of the Admiralty.

Shortly after his sixteenth birthday on 26 March 2010, he debuted then under coach Dietmar Kühbauer for Admira Juniors at the 0:2 away win against SV Schwechat in the East Regional. As a result he came up with five more missions without scoring until the end of the season.

In the season 2010/11 he already went as a fixed squad member of the Juniors team in the Regional and started as a regular in the season. From 2005 to 2010 he had been able to achieve 78 goals in a total of 100 junior games. On 14 September 2010 he celebrated under the now to the A- Team head coach Ascended Kühbauer his debut in professional football. In his second on 24 September 2010 at the away win against FC Lustenau 07 he achieved his first Profitor to the final score of 0:3.

Beginning in January 2013, he moved to league rivals SK Rapid Wien. He signed a contract until the end of June 2016.

Marcel Sabitzer is considered versatile player, as it can be used either in the right or left side of midfield and as center forward.

National

From 2009 to 2010 he ran in a total of five games on team scores a goal under coach Thomas Janeschitz for the Austrian U-16 national team.

From 24 to 28 August 2010, he came on in the 22nd edition of the International TOTO Youth Cup in Upper Austria for the Austrian U -17 national team. Sabitzer met in all three matches against Belgium, Croatia and Switzerland once each and was crowned top scorer of the tournament. In the last game against the Swiss U -17 him the decisive winner managed to win the tournament. In May 2012, Sabitzer, was first convened after his good performances at FC Trenkwalder Admira team boss Marcel Koller in the A- squad of the national team. He celebrated his international debut on June 5, 2012 in a friendly against Romania.
