Marcelo Álvarez

Marcelo Álvarez ( born February 27, 1962 in Córdoba, Argentina) is an Argentine opera singer (tenor ).

Life

Álvarez visited as a child, a music school ( Niños Cantores ) in Córdoba, where he also sang in the boys choir. Later, he decided however for a business degree and worked until his 30th birthday in a furniture factory. Only in 1992 he started - with great support of his wife Patricia - in Buenos Aires to train as an opera singer. There followed three years intensive studies. After his efforts to gain a foothold in the Teatro Colón failed, Marcelo Álvarez decided, in 1995 all his possessions in Argentina to sell and - the Council of Giuseppe Di Stefano following - go to Italy. He now lives with his wife and son in Tortona in Milan.

Career
