March Air Reserve Base (short: March ARB ) is a military airfield of Air Force Reserve Command in Riverside County, California, United States. It is home to the Fourth Air Force Air Force.

Geography

March Air Reserve Base is in the northwest of Riverside County, California, southwest of Moreno Valley and north of Perris. The airfield is served by Interstate 215.

History

Founded in February 1918 as Alessandro Flying Training Field, is the March Air Reserve Base one of the oldest airfields of the U.S. military. March Field AirFest

The March Field AirFest, also known as " Thunder Over the Empire", is a bi -annual air show. It is one of the biggest events in Riverside County and the Inland Empire Region. Among other things, the United States Air Force Thunderbirds and a Lockheed Martin F -22 have already been shown. The number of visitors was estimated in 2010 at 150,000.
