Marcialonga

The façades Marcialonga or Marcialonga di fiemme e is a cross-country marathon and one of sixteen rounds of the Worldloppet series. The Marcialonga was repeated part of the Marathon Cup and belongs since 2011 to the race series of Ski Classics. He finds in the Fiemme Valley (Val di Fiemme ) and in the Fassa Valley (Val di Fassa ) in the Dolomites in Italy.

The Skilanglaufmaraton Marcialonga leads from Moena to Cavalese about Canazei over 70 kilometers. The highest point in Canazei is located at 1500 m asl, while the lowest point in Molina di Fiemme at about 800 m slm lies. During the race, a total vertical drop of 886 meters, is overcome. The run is performed in the feature race in classic technique. It takes place in January on the last Sunday. In addition to the main race is organized through 45 km classic technique nor a Marcialonga light. The first race was held in 1971 and has since performed with the exception of 1975, 1989 and 1990 year. The numbers of participants are mostly used by over 4,000 cross-country skiers. Maurilio De Zolt With four wins and Jørgen Aukland were the most successful runners. The most successful runner was Mary Canin, which was 1979-1988 times successfully in a row.
