Marco Antônio dos Santos

Marco Antonio dos Santos or short Marquinho ( born November 11, 1966 in São Paulo, Brazil ) is a former Brazilian football player.

The attacking midfielder and excellent free kick taker began his career in 1985 at Associação Atlética Ponte Preta in Campinas. He then moved in 1989 to the Sport Club Internacional Porto Alegre, where in 1990 he started his career abroad. He played the next few years in Peru, Austria, Mexico and the United States, winning with his team multiple championships.

In Peru, he was elected in 1992 to the most valuable player in the league, and won in 1997 for best foreign players. The greatest international success celebrated Marquinho 1994, when he not only won the Austrian championship with the SV Austria Salzburg, but moved to the finals of the UEFA Cup.
