Marco Fertonani

Marco Fertonani ( born July 8, 1976 in Genoa ) is an Italian racing cyclist.

Marco Fertonani began his professional career in 2002 at the Swiss Phonak Cycling Team, where he continued for three years. In his last year of good climbers won a stage of the Tour of Qinghai Lake. In the 2005 season he rode in the Italian cycling team Domina Vacanze. He was strong in the Tour de Romandie and finished fifth overall. Since 2006, he runs for the Spanish ProTour team Caisse d' Epargne. In the Vuelta a Castilla y León 2006, he won the 4th stage.

In the Mediterranean tour 2007, which ended Fertonani in fourth, he was tested positive for testosterone and banned for two years for doping.
