Marco Meilinger

Marco Meilinger (born 3 August 1991, Salzburg) is an Austrian football player. The midfielder is in the Austrian first division club FC Red Bull Salzburg under contract.

Association

Marco Meilinger began playing football as a young boy at USK Anif. In 2002 he moved to the youth department of SV Austria Salzburg and played in several youth teams. Following the acquisition of Red Bull he was allowed to play in the BNZ teams of Salzburg and in 2009 succeeded the jump to the Juniors Salzburg who were still playing at this point in the ADEG First League. He made his debut the same in the 1st round away against Wacker Innsbruck and on 19 March 2010 he succeeded in the game against Austria Lustenau even three goals.

For the 2010/11 season the team had relegated to the Regionalliga West, however, which caused a collapse of the team. Many players move to other clubs, since they were the 3rd league too weak. Many rumors about Marco Meilinger went in this time around, so wanted him as the Spanish second division side SV Ried or commit. Marco himself would prefer to prevail in Salzburg and play in the first team and so it happened that he signed a contract for three years with FC Red Bull Salzburg signed in late April 2010. The first season as a professional was not according to his wish when he came to train only for the second team in the Regionalliga West. Also at the beginning of the second season with the Bulls, he was reinstated only in the third division. Shortly before the transfer window 2011/12 season could commit for one year on loan him the SV Ried. On September 17, 2011 game against FC Admira Wacker Mödling he celebrated his Bundesliga debut when he came off the bench in 67 minutes for Emanuel Schreiner. His first Bundesliga goal he scored four laps later against SV Mattersburg. After two years in Ried, he returned to the 2013/14 season back to Salzburg.

National

Since 2008, Marco is in constant use of the youth national teams of Austria. In 2010 he took part in the U-19 European Championship in France, where he came from France and the Netherlands in the group used. The team was third group and qualified as for the U -20 World Cup 2011 in Colombia. In Colombia, Marco came up with two inserts, but resigned with the team as a group Last in the preliminaries of.
