Marco Minnemann

Marco Minnemann ( born December 24, 1970 in Hannover ) is a German musician who is best known as a studio drummer.

Minnemann came 19 years after Munich, where he drummer of the crossover band Freaky Fukin Weirdoz 1992. In addition, he founded with singer Artemis Gounaki the progressive rock project Illegal Aliens. In 1997 he moved to the H -Blockx, where he remained until 1999. In the following years he worked together with Udo Lindenberg, Paddy Kelly, Terry Bozzio, Chad Wackerman, Wolfgang Schmid, Kreator, Mike Keneally and Nena.

Due to its progressive slot, he has won several awards in various trade magazines and published several instructional DVDs and books.

As one of seven drummers, he was charged in October 2010 by the band Dream Theater to audition to find a replacement for Mike Portnoy, who left the band in September 2010. On the bonus DVD of the 2011 published A Dramatic Turn of Events of the film about the rehearsals and the audition is included.

Currently he is with guitarist Guthrie Govan, and bassist Bryan Barker in fusion trio The Aristocrats active. He also played on the 2012 world tour of Steven Wilson 's solo album Grace for Drowning on drums. He also played in 2013 during the recording of the third solo album by Steven Wilson The Raven That Refused to Sing ( And Other Stories ) and the subsequent tour. He then plays with Joe Satriani on the tour. On September 5, 2013 ", Levin Minnemann Rudess " appears with Tony Levin and Jordan Rudess.
