Marco Pinotti ( born February 25, 1976 in Osio Sotto ) is an Italian former racing cyclist. He is several times Italian champion in the time trial (2005, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2013).

Career

Marco Pinotti rode as an amateur, a total of 28 victories and was the 1998 Team Polti as a stagiaire the opportunity to leap into the professional sector. He then got a professional contract with the Italian cycling team Lampre- Daikin. In 1999 he won with his team-mate Raivis Belohvosciks the pair time trial GP d' Europe and a year later he siegter on a stage of the Tour of Poland. He took part three times so far in the Tour de France, with his best result in 2001 was the 52nd place in the overall standings, where he was also once stage second behind Verbrugghe. In the Basque Country Tour of 2003 he won a stage and secured the first rank in the mountains classification. From 2005 he drove for the Spanish ProTour team Saunier Duval- Prodir. He won in the same year at the Italian Championships in the time trial.

For the 2007 season, he moved as a complete surprise to the German T -Mobile team for this team (later HTC -Highroad ) get him stage wins in the Giro d' Italia in 2008, in the Basque Country Tour in 2009 and the Tour de Romandie 2010.

In 2012, he joined the BMC Racing Team and won the final time trial of the Giro d' Italia in 2012. 2013 he was again Italian champion in the time trial.

In September 2013 Pinotti announced his active career in cycling after 16 years to finish. The manager of the BMC cycling team, Jim Ochowicz, announced that Pinotti should be 2014, employed elsewhere in the team.

Pinotti leads an Italian university degree (Master) as an engineer, he graduated from the University of Bergamo in 2000
