Marco Travaglio

Marco Travaglio ( born October 13, 1964 in Turin ) is an Italian journalist, publicist and writer.

Life

After graduating from the Liceo classico one ( Humanistic Gymnasium) Travaglio studied at the University of Turin History and graduated with the laurea in Storia contemporanea (time history ). Since 1987 he worked for Indro Montanelli in Il Giornale, with whom he moved in 1994 to La Voce. Since 1992 he has been full-time journalist. Awards and Honors

  • The German Journalists' Association has awarded him on 28 April 2009 the " DJV Press Freedom Prize 2009". Konken said: " We honor Marco Travaglio in a bold and talented colleagues, fighting to defend againsts many barriers to freedom of expression and press freedom in Italy ." Other recipients of the award in recent years include the journalist Miroslav Filipovic and the Russian reporter Ol'ga Kitova. Filipović received the award for his article about the atrocities committed against civilians in Kosovo by the Yugoslav army, while Olga was honored Kitova corruption in Russia for their struggle in the termination.
  • In February 2010, Marco Travaglio was awarded the " Premiolino ", the oldest and most prestigious award for journalism in Italy is awarded annually to six journalists who have distinguished themselves as a reward for their careers and for their contribution in the field of freedom of the press.
