Marcos Saback

Saback Marcos ( Marcos Cezar Silva Saback; born June 17, 1971 in Salvador da Bahia) is a Brazilian guitarist.

Career

Saback began learning guitar at the age of 11 years and was strongly influenced by the local music as well as native rhythms.

In 1988 he enrolled at the Escola de Música of the Universidade Federal da Bahia, in order to study classical guitar with the Italian master Leonardo Viccenzo bocce.

In 1989 he took 16 years in the " Young instrumentalists in Bahia " part. He received the " discovery of the competition". In the same year he entered the Guitar Orchestra of the UFB a first guitar.

In 1990 he met the Spanish guitarist Paco de Lucía know. From him he learned new techniques and received detailed instructions to his studies for flamenco music. In 1993, he traveled for the first time in Europe at the invitation of the percussionist of the group of Paco de Lucía, Ruben Dantas. There he could his studies for flamenco guitar with the Roma guitarist Antón Gimenez intensify. From 1994, he developed an independent repertoire with which he returns to the Latin - American music. He built different rhythms like samba, choro, bossa nova and baião and Latin rhythms such as, among others, rumba, merengue, Guaguancó. In 1998 he released the album " calamari " with nine original compositions.

In 2000 he went on tour in Europe with the " Marcos Saback Group", but he stepped on, inter alia, in Germany and Spain. In 2005, he released his second album, " Magia Latina" with ten original compositions, with whom he returned to his Latin American roots. In 2006, he took in Frankfurt " Invierno en Frankfurt " to a tribute to Brazilian composer. In 2008 he released his first DVD in parallel to an album on " De volta a Bahia ". In 2011 he produced his second DVD " Marcos Saback Live at Teatro Castro Alves "
