Gent- Wevelgem 2007 Stage win Tour de France 2008

Because of this victory, he was awarded the Badge of Honour of the Saxon Cycling Federation.
Still not enough to charge at Columbia, he was not nominated for the 2009 Tour de France, so he could not repeat the stage win of 2008.
Furthermore Burghardt is also active in the promotion of young talent. It acts as a sponsor of Marcus Burghardt junior teams in cycling club 54 Venusberg.
