Marcus Caecilius Metellus (consul)

Marcus Caecilius Metellus was a politician of the Roman Republic.

Marcus Caecilius Metellus was one of four sons of Quintus Caecilius Metellus Macedonicus. He was Master of the Mint in the year 127 BC, Metellus was later than 118 BC, praetor. In 115 BC he was consul. In the period 114-111 BC Metellus was proconsul in Sardinia and Corsica. For his successes came in Quintilis (July) 111 BC a triumph; on the same day also triumphed his brother Gaius Caecilius Metellus Caprarius Thrace.
