Marcus Claudius Marcellus (consul 51 BC)

Marcus Claudius Marcellus ( probably 95 BC *, † 45 BC in Piraeus) was a Roman politician of the late Republic and one of the consuls of 51 BC

It was in the year 64 BC Marcus Porcius Cato, together with Uticensis Quaestor urbanus.

As an opponent of Gaius Julius Caesar, he ran his dismissal from the governorship in Gaul during his consulate. After Caesar's victory in the civil war, he lived first in Mytilene on Lesbos in exile.
