Marcus Samuelsson

Marcus Samuelsson, born Kassahun Tsegie (born 1970 in Addis Ababa ) is a Swedish- American chef, businessman and author of cookbooks.

Samuelsson ill with 3 years, just like his sister, tuberculosis, and the two children were given up for adoption by her father. The mother was shortly before died from the disease. In the Swedish Sävedalen (municipality Partille ) he was picked up by family Samuelsson. After school, he began his career as a chef.

Today Samuelsson is part owner and chef of the restaurant Aquavit in New York, where he lives in the Harlem district. In New York, he is involved in three other restaurants ( Mercato 55, Riingo and Scandinavian House). He is also the Clarion Hotel near the Central Station in Stockholm, where he has set up a branch of his Aquavit restaurant since 2008 part owner.

Since 2005, Samuelsson has been a visiting professor lectures at the Academy of Gastronomy Umeå University. He has published several cookbooks and accepts shipments from the Cooking Club of television in different countries participated (especially Sweden and the USA). He is a citizen in Sweden and the USA.
