Marcus Strickland

Marcus Strickland ( born 1979 in Miami, Florida) is an American jazz saxophonist.

Strickland came in 1997 to New York, where he experiences with bands like The Carnegie Hall Big Band, The Mingus Band, The Village Vanguard band, the Tom Harrell Big Band, the Milt Jackson Big Band, The Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra and Reggie Workman's African American Legacy band collected. He also worked with Dave Douglas, Jeff Tain Watts and Michael Carvin, and five years with drummer Roy Haynes. With Haynes and Douglas, he took on two Grammy-nominated albums ( Fountain of Youth and Keystone).

Strickland played the label Fresh Sound Records released two albums ( At last and Brotherhood ), which double CD Twi -Life was released on his own label, Strick Muzik. On all the albums he works with his twin brother, drummer EJ Strickland (Enoch Jamal Strickland ) together.
