Marcy Kaptur

Marcia Carolyn " Marcy " Kaptur ( born June 17, 1946 in Toledo, Ohio) is an American politician of the Democratic Party. Since January 3, 1983, she is a member of the House of Representatives of the United States for the 9th Congressional District of the State of Ohio.

Biography

Marcy Kaptur was born in Toledo, the daughter of Polish immigrants. Her family owned a small grocery store in Toledo. In 1964 she graduated with a high school degree from St. Ursula's Academy, a Catholic girls' school, from. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in 1968 at the University of Wisconsin- Madison, her Master's degree in urban planning it acquired in 1974 at the University of Michigan. At the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, she joined again in 1981 with a degree in urban planning. She was then working as a town planner.

As the successor to Ed Weber it was established in 1982 for the 9th district of Ohio in the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington DC selected. There she sits today. She is a member of the Committee on Appropriations and the Committee on the Budget.

Marcy Kaptur has lived in Toledo and is Roman Catholic faith.
