Marduk-apla-iddina I.

The Kassite Marduk - apla - iddina I. ( Babylonian: " Marduk has given a Erbsohn " ) ruled from 1170 to 1157 BC as the king of Babylon. He was the son of his predecessor Meli- Sipak and grandson of the Elamite ruler Šutruk - nahhunte. His successor Zababa - šuma - iddina was not related to him and reached perhaps by an uprising in the rule, which could have triggered the Elamite intervention.
