The Mare is a river in southern France, which runs in the department of Hérault, in the Languedoc- Roussillon region, in the Regional Natural Park of Haut Languedoc. It rises in the Monts de l' Espinouse, on the northern flank of the eponymous Summit Sommet de l' Espinouse ( 1124 m), in the municipality of Castanet- le-Haut, drained initially in an easterly direction, but then turns south and flows after 29 kilometers at Hérépian as a right tributary to the Orb.
