Marek Migalski

Marek Henryk Migalski ( born January 14, 1969 in Racibórz ) is a Polish political scientist, political commentator and a member of the European Parliament.

Biography

Migalski has completed political science studies at the University of Silesia in 1999. The doctorate ( " conception of a bridge between East and West ' by Edvard Beneš - an attempt to maintaining the independence of Czechoslovakia from 1945 to 1948 " ) he received in 2001 at the Faculty of Social Sciences at the same university.

He is employed at the Institute of Political Science and Journalism at the University of Silesia.

He took part in practice at Czech universities in Brno / Brno Budweis / České Budějovice and Olomouc / Olomouc. Migalski published several books and scientific papers.

As a political commentator, he often appears on television and radio, where he represented the line of the right-wing Law and Justice party (PiS ). In the European elections in Poland in 2009 Migalski was elected with 112 881 votes on the list of PiS in the European Parliament, but without join the party. As he closed the remaining PiS deputies to the Parliament of the European Conservatives and Reformists (ECR). He is a member of the Committee on Culture and Education.

In August 2010, however Migalski criticized the PiS chairman Jarosław Kaczyński in an open letter in which he blamed him for the bad poll numbers of the party. He solved so from a splitting of the PiS, in which he was supported especially by younger and more moderate representatives of the party. In the European Parliament Migalski was excluded from the PiS delegation, however, remained a member of the ECR Group. Together with three other MEPs and other members of PiS Migalski was finally on 16 November 2010 at the founding of the new party Polska jest Najważniejsza ( PJN, "Poland is the most important thing " ) involved.
