Marek Pinc

Marek Pinc ( born March 20, 1979 in Most, Czechoslovakia) is a Czech professional ice hockey goaltender who stands since 2009 when the White Tigers Liberec under contract.

Career

Marek Pinc began his career at the Czech first division club HC Chemopetrol Litvinov, for whom he debuted in the 1996/ 97 in the Extraliga. In the following season he took with Litvinov at the European Hockey League in part and completed four games, but in the Extraliga, he was only a back-up of Zdeněk Orct.

In the season 1999/2000 Pinc was still second goalkeeper of the HC Litvinov, but also came to inserts in the third game class at HC Banik Most. Since he was not satisfied with his role as a back -up, he moved in front of the 2000/ 01 season for HC Vagnerplast Kladno, he graduated for the 42 missions in the Extraliga. In the summer of 2001, he returned as the number 1 for HC Chemopetrol Litvinov and played until 2003 for this club. He then moved to HC Vitkovice.

In the season 2006/ 07, the HC Vitkovice did not qualify for the play- offs, so that Pinc was loaned to the Swiss first division club Fribourg- Gottéron. For Fribourg, he completed four games in the play- outs of the NLA before he was hired in March 2007 for the NLB Playoffs and Rise Relegation from the EHC Biel. However, the team from Biel failed in the relegation against SCL Tigers and remained thus in the NLB. Pinc then returned to HC Vitkovice and began the 2007/08 season there before he was loaned from the White Tigers Liberec due to the change of goalkeeper Milan Hnilicka.

In the early summer of 2008, the designated KHL participants tried Awtomobilist Yekaterinburg, the two other Czech player already had under contract, Marek Pinc to commit despite an existing contract with the HC Vitkovice. With the exclusion of Yekaterinburg from the KHL mid-July 2008, however, these efforts were invalid. Pinc therefore remained in Vitkovice and completed a total of 36 games for his club. However, after the 2008/ 09 season he got no contract extension since the club put on future Jakub Stepanek as a goalkeeper. Then Pinc was initially without a club. Only in October 2009, he signed a contract for two years at the White Tigers Liberec, as their first-choice goalkeeper, Tero Leinonen, was injured.

Internationally

With the Junior Selection Czech Republic Marek Pinc took part in the Under-18 Hockey Championship in 1997 and finished fifth. From 2004 Pinc was repeatedly used in tournaments of Euro Hockey League or in pre-season games of the national team, but only ten years later, he was again nominated for a World Championship: He belonged to the squad of the Czechs at the Ice Hockey World Championship for Men in 2007 and 2008 and came to an insert in each case.
