Marek Saganowski

Marek Saganowski ( born October 31, 1978 in Łódź, Poland ) is a Polish footballer.

Club career

Already at the age of seventeen he was regarded as one of the biggest striker talents of Poland and then moved at the age of eighteen years from ŁKS Łódź to Feyenoord Rotterdam. After a bad year with a few uses, he was loaned out to Hamburg, where he could not show his hoped- talent also. After just one season he moved back to ŁKS Łódź and showed there his football skills. About the Wisła Płock detour (then Orlen Plock ) and Odra Wodzisław Śląski he came to Legia Warsaw, where he matured into a national player. He was sold for 750,000 euros from Legia Warsaw to Vitória Guimarães 2005. However, his 13 goals could not save the club from relegation. Despite alleged offers from FC Porto and Benfica, he decided to France ES Troyes AC switch, but was in winter borrowed because of disputes with the coach and the board of the Southampton FC until the end of the season and firmly committed after last season. In August 2008, joined Marek Saganowski, on loan, for Danish champions Aalborg BK. On 21 October 2008, he scored against Villarreal allersten his goal in the Champions League. For the second half of 2008/ 09 Marek Saganowski plays in England for Southampton FC. On 26 January 2010, he signed a contract with the Greek first division side Atromitos. In Greece, he completed a total of 34 league games in which he scored five goals. In summer 2011, he returned to his hometown club ŁKS Łódź. Despite his six goals in 29 league games, Saganowski could not prevent relegation. July 1, 2012 Saganowski signed a one-year contract with his former club Legia Warsaw.

National

For the Polish national football team Marek Saganowski played more since 1996 a total of 34 caps and scored five goals. In 2008 he took part in the European Football Championship in Austria and Switzerland.
