Marek Sawicki

Marek Sawicki Waclaw? / I ( born April 8, 1958 in Sawice, Masovian Voivodeship ) is a Polish politician. He was from 2007 to 2012 Minister of Agriculture in the government of Donald Tusk.

Life

Marek Sawicki graduated in 1983 graduated from the College of Education and Agriculture (now Akademia Podlasie ) in Siedlce from. Subsequently he was employed from 1983 to 1985 as an assistant at the university. In 1985 he became a member of the volunteer fire department and sat there in the presidium of the province. From 1987 to 1988 he was inspector of the sugar factory in Sokołów Podlaski. In 1988, he joined the United Peasant Party a ( Zjednoczone Stronnictwo Ludowe ZSL ). In Sokołów Podlaski, he was from 1989 to 1990 worked as a teacher at the School of Agriculture. In 1990 he left the ZSL and joined the newly formed Polish People's Party ( Polskie Stronnictwo Ludowe, PSL) a. As a community leader ( wójt ) the rural community Repki in powiat Sokolowski he worked from 1990 to 1996. In 1996 he completed postgraduate studies at the Institute for Agricultural Law of the Polish Academy of Sciences. Since 1993 he has held a seat in the Sejm. 1996/1997 he was State Secretary in the Ministry of Telecommunications. In his second term from 1997 to 2001 he was a member of the Committee on Competition and Consumer Protection ( Komisja Ochrony Konkurencji i Konsumentów ). From 2001 to 2005 he was Chairman of the Group of the Polish People's Party. In the 2005 election he was elected in his constituency Siedlce 6,527 votes in the Sejm. April 28, 2006 Marek Sawicki defended his thesis and received his doctorate title. In the early election in 2007, he came in his constituency to 10,995 votes.

Since 16 November 2007 he was Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development in the Cabinet Tusk I and initially retained the post in the Cabinet Tusk II On 18 July 2012, he submitted his resignation and was discharged July 26, 2012 as a minister.
