Marek Walczewski

Marek Walczewski ( born April 9, 1937 in Krakow, † 26 May 2009 Warsaw) was a Polish actor.

Marek Walczewski studied acting in his hometown of Krakow and received his diploma in 1960. Subsequently, he was engaged at the Slowacki Theatre in Krakow. In 1964 he went to the renowned Teatr Stary in Krakow, where he worked with the great directors of this time: Konrad Swinarski Jerzy Jarocki and Józef Szajna. 1972 hired him Erwin Axer to be Współczesny Teatr in Warsaw, but in 1973 he went to Warsaw's Teatr Ateneum. The other two major theater in Warsaw Teatr Teatr Studio Dramatyczny and gave him 1976-1992 an artistic home.

The very expressive Walczewski played a variety of characters in his career, he has always given a face and a voice, especially the shallows madman. Also in the film, especially these characters are stuck in my mind. In the years before his death Marek Walczewski suffered from Alzheimer's. He played his last role in the 2004 film life in me by the young director Małgorzata Szumowska. For this role, his texts were eingesprochen so that he could still play. One last time, he received great acclaim for his performance with the award for best supporting actor at the National Polish Film Festival in Gdynia 2004. Walczewski was married to actress Małgorzata Niemirska.
