Maret Ani

Maret Ani ( born January 31, 1982 in Tallinn) is an Estonian tennis player.

Career

Ani was a talented basketball player in her youth, but she moved with 14 years of tennis. Three years later, she went to Italy after they had found a sponsor for a coach. She was trained by Aito Poldma and later by Pierfrancesco Restelli.

Ani played first time in 1998 for Estonia's Fed Cup team. 2004 and 2008 she appeared for Estonia at the Olympic Summer Games, 2004, only in double, 2008, in singles. They came out with any of her stakes on the first round. In early 2006, she was the highest-ranked Estonian tennis player before she was replaced by Kaia Kanepi.

Your last official appearance was in July 2010 at the WTA tournament in Båstad, where she failed to qualify in singles. Two months earlier, she had won at the side of the German Julia Schruff at the ITF tournament in Florence their last title.
