Margaret Booth

Margaret Booth ( born January 16, 1898 in Los Angeles, California, USA, † October 28, 2002 ibid ) was an American film editor.

Life

Booth's film career began in 1915, shortly after she graduated from high school and she was hired by DW Griffith as assistant editor for Orphans of the Storm ( Orphans of the Storm ). In 1921 she moved to Louis B. Mayer, one at this time still independent film producers. After the founding of MGM Studios by Marcus Loew, Louis B. Mayer and Irving Thalberg Booth worked until 1968 for MGM, where she rose to 1939 Chefeditorin and all productions monitored in terms of film editing.

For her work on Mutiny on the Bounty in 1935 Booth was nominated for an Oscar. In 1977, Booth was then honored with an honorary Oscar for lifetime achievement.
