Margaret Burgess

Margaret Burgess ( born December 7, 1949 in the region Ayrshire ) is a Scottish politician and member of the Scottish National Party ( SNP).

Life

Burgess grew up in today's Unitary Authority Ayrshire and lives in the area of ​​the present constituency of Cunninghame South for over 40 years. Prior to her election to the Scottish Parliament, she was director of the civil offices of East Ayrshire.

Political career

Since her coming of age Burgess is SNP member. In the parliamentary elections in 2011 they first appeared to elections at the national level. She won the direct mandate of the constituency Cunninghame South and moved for the first time in the Scottish Parliament. They won the mandate before the Labour politician Irene Oldfather, which was sent to the Parliament for Cunninghame South since 1999.
