Margaret Colin
Margaret Colin ( born May 26, 1957 in New York City ) is an American actress.
Life and achievements
Colin is the daughter of a police officer. She grew up on Long Iceland and graduated from Baldwin High School.
Colin made his debut in the television series The Edge of Night, in which she played the role of Paige Madison in 1979 to 1980. From 1981 to 1983 she starred in the television series As the World Turns. In the crime comedy Something Wild (1986 ) she played opposite Jeff Daniels and Melanie Griffith.
In the comedy The man of her dreams (1991 ) Colin played the role of actress Robyn Graves, a relationship first with the psychiatrist Dr. Alex Tremor ( Jeff Daniels ) and then with Grace ( Frances McDormand ) connects. In the science fiction movie Independence Day (1996 ) she played alongside Bill Pullman, Jeff Goldblum and Will Smith one of the major roles. In the thriller The Devil's Own (1997) she played the role of Sheila O'Meara, wife of Tom O'Meara (Harrison Ford). For her role in the television series Now and Again, she won the Saturn Award in 2000. In the comedy First Daughter - First Daughter (2004) she starred opposite Michael Keaton and Katie Holmes.
Colin is married since 1988 to actor Justin Deas, whom she had met on the set of As the World Turns. Both have two sons and live in Upper Montclair, New Jersey is a board member of Feminists for Life, an organization of anti - abortion movement.
