Margaret Court Arena

The Margaret Court Arena is a tennis arena in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, and the venue for the Australian Open. It is part of the sports facilities at Melbourne Park.

The arena was built in 1988 as part of the National Tennis Center and was first called Show Court One. In 2003 it was renamed in honor of the famous Australian tennis player and twenty-four -time Grand Slam winner Margaret Court Margaret Court Arena. You currently comprises a total of 6,000 seats. In the next few years, the capacity of the arena is increased by 1,500 places and in addition it receives a roof. This work should be completed at the Australian Open 2015.
