Margaret Dumont
Margaret Dumont, born Daisy Juliette Baker ( born October 20, 1882 in New York City, USA, † March 6, 1965 in Hollywood, California ) was an American actress.
Life
Before joining the film, she played in Vaudeville, where she was amongst others, the Marx Brothers on tour.
Special Dumont gained fame through their involvement in seven of the thirteen films of the Marx Brothers as a counterpart to Groucho, who tried making the acquaintance in every movie with her. You always embodied the lady of the world and was thus always been the aim of the humor of the brothers. Since they were also outside of the film as a woman of the world, she was there too target of the jokes of the brothers. So Groucho reported that they stole the wig on a tour of their bald-headed fellow, so that Dumont had to leave with a towel around his head the train.
