Margaret Gast

Margaret Guest ( born November 2, 1876 in Germany, † April 13, 1968 ) was an American cyclist.

At the age of 16 years, Margaret Guest ( Margareta Nagengast actually ) came from Bavaria to the United States. From 1890 to 1910, she was one of the dominant bicycle riders in the United States. In 1900, she set four records over long distances - 500, 1000, 2000 and 2500 miles - on. They also drove pacemaker race, such as behind the German pacemaker Franz Hofmann. Later Little Dutchy drove himself motorcycle racing and fully led Stunts on a motorcycle.

After her retirement from the sport in the early 1920s guest trained as a masseuse and practiced their profession into old age. 1931 burned her at that time the studio completely. They also operated the restaurant The Little Dutchess Inn.

1993 Margaret Guest was inducted into the United States Bicycling Hall of Fame.
