Margaret Spellings

Margaret Spellings ( born November 30, 1957; born Margaret Dudar ) is an American politician ( Republican). She was from 2005 to 2009 Minister of Education and Science of the United States.

The nomination of posts originating from Michigan Margaret Spellings for education minister in place of Roderick Paige was confirmed by the U.S. Senate on January 20, 2005. Previously, she had worked for Home Affairs as personal assistant to the president and was responsible in this function, the planning and implementation of the policy of the White House in the fields of education, health, labor, transportation, justice, housing and other elements of the domestic agenda of President George W Bush.. She was also one of the authors of the No Child Left Behind Act.

Prior to joining the White House Spellings worked for six years as a senior advisor to Governor Bush in Texas. In this capacity, she was responsible for the planning and implementation of the education policy of the Governor. She was Reading initiative to promote the reading abilities of elementary school children, the student involved in the implementation of the Texas Success Initiative to promote opportunities for social advancement and the most effective assessment and accountability system for schools that has ever existed in the United States. They also submitted to the Governor proposals for the key posts in the Governor's office.

After her time in the Cabinet Bush, which ended on 20 January 2009, she became a consultant post at the Boston Consulting Group.
