Margareta Keszeg

Margareta Keszeg ( born August 31, 1965 in Medias ) is a former Romanian long-distance runner from the Hungarian minority in Transylvania.

At the beginning of their careers Keszeg approached also in the medium range. In the 1500 -meter run, she was at the IAAF World Indoor Games in Paris in 1985 and won fifth in the same year at the Universiade in Kobe the silver medal.

Most of their international successes achieved Keszeg but in 3000 -meter run in the hall. Over this distance, she won a bronze medal at the IAAF World Indoor Championships in Seville in 1991 and in Toronto in 1993 and silver medals in 1989 in Budapest. For Indoor Athletics European Championships she won in 1992 in Genoa the title and in 1990 in Glasgow and 1994 in Paris Silver Medals. Among her most important results in the open air among the fifth Campsite at the European Athletics Championships in 1990 in Split and at the World Athletics Championships 1991 in Tokyo, and the eleventh place finish at the 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona.

Furthermore Keszeg in 1989 and 1992 Romanian champion in 3000 -meter run and won over this distance in 1990 at the Japan Open Championships and the 1991 U.S. Indoor Championships.

In the European Cross Country Championships 1994 in Alnwick Keszeg came in 16th place and won with the Romanian team's national rankings. In the previous three years she had each become national champion in cross-country running.

Margareta Keszeg is 1,65 m tall and had a competition weight of 51 kg.
