Margarita Starkevičiūtė

Margarita Starkevičiūtė ( born March 15, 1956 in Yenisejsk ) is a Lithuanian politician and since 2004 a member of the European Parliament for the Liberalų ir centro sąjunga and a member of the Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe.

Life

Starkevičiūtė acquired in 1978 a degree of Economics at the Faculty of Industrial Economics, Vilnius University (VU) and a doctorate in 2001 for Doctor of Social Sciences ( Economics ) at the VU. She was 1979-1988 worked as a senior expert at the National Institute for services and publications and worked from 1990 to 1995 as a senior expert and consultant on foreign investment in the Ministry of Health of Lithuania, the Ministry of Agriculture of Lithuania and in the construction and Urbanistikministerium Lithuania.

From 1994 to 2001 Starkevičiūtė worked at the National Stock Exchange and the Central Depository government as Head of Market Analysis and head of the research group. In addition Starkevičiūtė taught between 1996 and 2001 as a lecturer and from 2002 to 2004 as an associate professor at the International School of Economics at the VU (VU TVM).

2003 was a member of the editorial board Starkevičiūtė the business magazine " Lietuvos ekonomikos apžvalga ".
