Margot Benacerraf
Margot Benacerraf ( born August 14, 1926 in Caracas, Venezuela ) is a Venezuelan - French film director.
Life
Benacerraf studied in Paris film and theater studies. She was influenced by the Italian neo-realism. In this style, even her major work Araya (1959 ) is rotated. Araya portrays the lives of salt workers on the Venezuelan peninsula of Araya. The film also won the Critics' Prize at the International Film Festival of Cannes 1959. Araya This was the first Latin American movie ever who could win an international film award.
