Margrit Klinger

Margrit Klinger ( born June 22, 1960 in Hönebach, Hesse ) is a former German track and field athlete and Olympian.

Life

Klinger grew up as one of seven siblings in Wildeck - Hönebach. She completed training as a specialist assistant from in tax and business matters and has since 1979 worked in the administration of the district hospital in Bad Hersfeld. Klinger lives in Wildeck - Obersuhl.

Career

Margrit Klinger was successful in the 1980s in the 800 -meter run. Her biggest success is the bronze medal at the European Championships 1982 ( 1:57,22 min). They also launched at the World Championships 1983 ( fourth place: 1:58,11 min) and at the 1984 Olympics ( seventh place: 2:00,65 min). In 1983, she was third at the European Cup final ( 1:59,64 min).

Klinger 1980, 1981, 1982, 1984, 1985 and 1987 German champion in the 800 -meter run, 1984, German Champion in the 1500 meter race. She was a member of the sports club TV Obersuhl. In her competition time, she was 1.67 m tall and 55 kg.
