Maria Guida

Maria Guida ( born January 23, 1966 in Vico Equense) is a former Italian long-distance runner and former European champion in the marathon.

Maria Guida began her career as a track runner. In 1991 they won their first Italian championship title in the 10,000 -meter run. From 1993 to 1996, followed by four more titles, in 2001, she won the sixth title on this route. At the World Athletics Championships in Stuttgart in 1993 it reached after 32:15,34 min twelfth place. In Helsinki at the European Championships in 1994 she won the 10,000 meters with the national record of 31:42,14 min sixth place. A year later, she ran in the World Championships in Gothenburg 31:27,82 min, finishing in fourth place.

During her career path Guida stepped on in the road race. 1994, 1999 and 2002, she was Italian champion in the half marathon. In the World Half Marathon Championships in 1998 Guida in 15th place in the individual standings and was with the team sixth. In 2002 she won the 30th place and was again with the team sixth.

In 1992 she ran her first marathon in 1999, she won the Turin Marathon and the Maratona d' Italia. In 2001 she won the Rome Marathon. At the European Championships 2002, she latched on to the end of their career, the biggest title. Add 2:26:05 h she ran up close to her personal best and won with about a minute ahead of the two Germans Luminita Zaituc and Sonja Upper.

Maria Guida is 1,60 m tall and weighed about 49 kg competition times.
