Maria Hellwig

Maria Hellwig ( born Neumaier, born February 22, 1920 in Reit im Winkl, † November 26, 2010 in Ruhpolding ) was a German singer of popular music, television presenter and entertainer. Life

Maria Hellwig was born as the daughter of Heinrich Neumaier electrician and his wife Mary. At the age of 5 she was on the stage of the Bauer Theatre in their home town for the first time. After leaving school she trained as a seller.

In her free time she played theater and took singing lessons. On stage, she also met her first husband Joseph Fischer know; he fell in the Second World War. From this marriage the daughter Margot went ( born July 5, 1941) shows, with which they occurred since 1963 in a duo as Mary and Margot Hellwig.

She was married to Addi Hellwig from 1948 until his death in 1996. In 1948 she was engaged at the Hamburg Volksoper, where they acted The Land of Smiles in several roles, including as Mi in the operetta.
