Menez ( born 1926 in Lisbon, † 1995, Maria Inês actually Ribeiro da Fonseca ) was a Portuguese painter.

Career

She spent her childhood in Buenos Aires, Stockholm, Paris, Switzerland, in Washington, Rome, London and Lisbon. With the painting, she began at the age of 26 years, in 1954 she had her first solo exhibition.

As a fellow of the Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian in 1960 she came to London. In 1961 she presented in the II Exposição de Artes Plásticas from the Gulbenkian Foundation and won the second prize in the category of painting. In 1990 she was awarded the Prémio Pessoa. For the design of the facade of the Faculty of Psychology, University of Lisbon 1991 she was given the Prémio de Azulejaria Jorge Colaço.
