María Isabella of Spain

Maria Isabel de Borbón ( born July 6, 1789 in Madrid, † September 13, 1848 in Real Citio de Portici) was a Infanta of Spain and Queen of the Two Sicilies by marriage.

Life

Maria Isabel was the daughter of King Charles IV of Spain and his wife Maria Luisa of Bourbon, Princess of Parma. There is a high probability that Maria Isabel was not the biological child of King Charles IV of Spain but comes from the relationship of Maria Louise of Bourbon -Parma and her lover Manuel de Godoy.

They married on October 6, 1802 Francesco I of Bourbon, the then Crown Prince of Naples and Sicily, son of King Ferdinand I of the Two Sicilies and Archduchess Maria Carolina of Austria.

Maria Isabel died in 1848 at the age of 59 years.
