María José Martínez Sánchez

María José Martínez Sánchez ( born August 12, 1982 in Yecla) is a Spanish tennis player.

Career

Martínez Sánchez began at the age of six years of playing tennis. Since 1998 she has been a professional player on the WTA Tour. Your preferred base is the hard court, although they won the first four singles titles at the clay court tournaments.

2008 Martínez Sánchez joined at the Summer Olympic Games in Beijing for the Spanish team.

At their debut at a Grand Slam tournament she left at the U.S. Open in the second qualifying round in 2000. In individual they won previous five WTA tournaments, including the 2010 clay court classic from Rome, her most important title yet.

In doubles, where she could already advance up to Rank 4 in the world rankings (5 July 2010), already 16 WTA tournament victories came into being, including ten on the side of her compatriot Nuria Llagostera Vives.
