Maria Mena

Maria Viktoria Mena ( born February 19, 1986 in Oslo) is a Norwegian pop musician and songwriter.

Life

Maria Mena grew up in an artistically active family. The mother, a Norwegian who wrote lyrics, the father of Charles Mena, who was born in Nicaragua and raised in New York, worked as a drummer. Maria and her younger brother Tony are named after characters from Leonard Bernstein's West Side Story. The father played in many bands in Oslo, which is also his daughter approach led early on the professional music scene. When she was nine years old, her parents divorced. Four years later, Maria went to her father and began to write lyrics and sing. The song My Lullaby she wrote to express their feelings about the divorce of the parents expressed.
