Maria Perschy

Maria Perschy ( born September 23, 1938 in Eisenstadt, Burgenland, † 3 December 2004 in Vienna) was an Austrian film actress.

Life

At age 17, she received acting lessons at the Max Reinhardt Seminar in Vienna, where, among other things Susi Nicoletti was also her teacher. This helped her to a contract at Bavaria Film. Through the film Wet Asphalt (1958, with Horst Buchholz), the international film world took notice of them. It was followed by engagements in the UK, France and Hollywood. Maria Perschy was then six years with the actor Joachim Hansen and later engaged to the skier Roger dust.

The international breakthrough came at the side of Rock Hudson with a goldfish on a leash. After that she lived in Spain and was seen in many German, Italian and American films, including with Pierre Brice and Hans -Joachim Kulenkampff. Perschy also played with various German and international television series, so in 1970 in two parts of the British television series Paul Temple ( by Francis Matthews and Ros Drinkwater ), in the series The fifth column, Hawaii Five-O and General Hospital.

When shooting in Spain she was injured in July 1971 by a fire accident hard in the face and was confined for long periods in the bed. After several surgeries she could continue her career. When she was asked in the fall of 1976 by the Spanish side to accept, instead of the Austrian Spanish citizenship, she returned to Vienna in December 1976.

From 1977, she lived in Los Angeles and married the novelist and screenwriter John Melson, who committed suicide in 1983. Maria Perschy worked as a translator and in the antiques industry and auctioned artworks on behalf of their customers.

In 1986, she returned to Vienna, where she was appointed by Felix Dvorak at the Stadttheater Bern village where she has been extremely successful to be seen in many of his productions.

Perschy Maria, mother of a daughter (born 1967 ), died in early December 2004 in Vienna with cancer.
