Mariamite Maronite Order

The Mariamitische Maronite Order of the Blessed Virgin Mary (Latin: Ordo Maronita Mariae Virginis Beatae, also Aleppianer, religious symbol OMM ) is a religious order in the Maronite Church.

History

From the Lebanese Maronite Order, which is also known as " Baladiten ", in 1742 formed a group, the task shifted its focus from land areas to the cities. The " Aleppinischen Antonians " as they called themselves, became independent in 1770 with the approval of Pope Clement XIV but your historical origin still leads the congregation was founded in 1695 on the " Lebanese Maronite Order" back. Order

Organization

The Generalate has its headquarters in the monastery of Our Lady of Louaize in Zouk Mosbeh in Lebanon. The tasks extend to all of Lebanon, the focus is in the Santa Elisa monastery in Bsharri, the College of St. John the Baptist in Kherbet Kanafar in Bekaa, the University of Notre Dame de Louaize, the Monastery of St. Abda in Deir El Kamar and the monastery of St. Joseph in Choumra. As of 2010, the Order was one of 90 religious priests and 121 religious men, who are divided in 22 communities.

The highest representative of the Order is the current Maronite Patriarch Archbishop Béchara Pierre Raï OMM, another bishop François Eid OMM from Cairo, who was previously General Superior of the Order.
